On Air and Online

Hey world wide web,
Monday marked the first day of my internship with WCJB TV20, and it has been quite the fun, interesting experience so far.
Since the start, I’ve uploaded articles to the TV20 Web site, edited articles, approved comments and have chosen stories for the home page. I have also edited and captured video using Final Cut Pro for the articles as well as their one-minute local news/sports/weather vids.
The challenging part is learning all of their programs and, on a basic level, adjusting to using a Mac. I’ve been a PC person all my life, and now I’m starting to consider making the switch when my PC decides to punk out. (knocks on wood)
Please don’t punk out, PC.
I’ve also gotten the chance to sit in the control room while the 5:30 and 6 p.m. news airs. As an audience member who usually watches TV news on her comfy sofa, a half hour goes by so quickly and painlessly. But it’s tense and exciting actually watching people produce the show.
It has only been three days in, and I’ll be sure to update once I’ve gotten to observe more.
Also, I have a Flickr page now! I’ve begun to take photos on my new Nikon D5000. Here’s my photostream.
Some of my first photos were taken at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival:
